History
This 1880 shotgun style home served as a rental home for 70-80 years and was saved from demolition by Randy and Cindy Bellamy when they purchased it in 2010.
Renovations
The entire interior of the home was gutted due to its poor condition and required a new sill plate around the exterior and foundation repair to support the home. The Bellamy’s kept the traditional shotgun layout while renovating the interior to an industrial/modern look and designing it to be completely handicap accessible. All of the windows have been restored, along with most of the exterior doors. The arched window in the gable was uncovered when the replacement rectangular window was removed. Removal of the aluminum siding revealed the outline of decorative corbels on the front peak of the house. New reproduced corbels were placed in the exact location of the original ones to maintain the original design.
