The Big Chair of Thomasville is quite a famous landmark. It stands as a proud monument to the city's distinction as a leading furniture manufacturing center. The reason for it all goes back to the early part of the 20th century. Between 1910 and 1920, Thomasville became known as the "Chair Town" because of the amazing level of chair production from our company, then known as the Thomasville Chair Company, and other local manufacturing concerns.
