The Masquerade Ball (Old Town Hall) – at 32 Derby Square. Disney used the exterior of this building, specifically the side with the single set of green doors. The interior scenes where locals were cursed to “dance, dance until you die” were shot at what was known as the Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. The Old Town Hall is where Winfred Sanderson belted out, I Put a Spell on You made iconic by Bette Midler’s incredible singing chops. Imagine how different this scene would have been if filmmaker's original casting choice of Cloris Leachman had played Winnie.
