Continuing down Main Street is the Town Hall, built in 1816 by John Barrett as a store. Dominating the local trade, the Barrett store boasted 862 customers, most of whom were buying for large families. In 1857 his widow sold the building to the town, where it was shared by town offices, a library, and the post office.
Today, the town hall is the home of the post office and town offices. Meetings are held upstairs in the newly remodeled and ADA accessible second floor.
