Baron Auguste Lambermont was an important figure in Ottignies in the 19th century, both locally and nationally. Minister of State, Secretary to the Minister for Foreign Affairs during the reign of Leopold I, he negotiated the purchase of tolls on the Scheldt with the Netherlands in 1861 and thus favored the development of the railway. Ennobled in 1863, a boulevard bears his name in Brussels and an avenue in his village of origin. The property in which he lived with his family consists of a villa, a farm, an orchard and a large garden surrounded by trees. This is a private property that can not be visited. In front of the manor is the Saint-Joseph church, a small neo-medieval sanctuary built in 1872.
Classification as a monument and as a site took place on May 28, 1973.
