The Trinity United Methodist Church was bulit in 1890 on East Nash Street. This building replaced the original 1814 structure. The earlier structure was used as a hospital and to house Union troops during the Civil War. It was moved to North Lord Street and is still being use by the Mount Carmel AME Church. The current 1890 sanctuary has interior walls and ceilings of Carolina heartpine boards, which also frame the twenty-four stained glass lancet styled windows.
