The UMKC School of Medicine was founded in 1971 and is home to one of the only direct-admit, combined bachelors and medical degree programs in the country. Additionally, the School of Medicine offers a four-year M.D. track, as well as Physician Assistant and Anesthesiologist Assistant programs. All clinical programs offer early and continued clinical experiences at partner hospitals on the Health Sciences Campus and across the metro. The School of Medicine also offers non-clinical masters, graduate certificate, and PhD options through the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics and the Department of Health Professions Education. UMKC’s Health Sciences Library, which provides resources and study spaces for medical, dental, nursing, and health sciences students, is located on the 2nd floor of the School of Medicine.
