The U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center is a cooperative effort among the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and other land grant universities. It consists of this research laboratory in Madison, as well as a dairy herd and field facility near Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. USDA scientists conduct research to improve dairy cow nutrition and forage quality for dairy production systems, and reduce environmental impacts of dairy production.
