Our iconic hexagonal Venice Lifeguard Station was built by the City of Los Angeles in 1968. The tower portion has been Lifeguard Headquarters for over 50 years; the ground level houses lifeguard and beach maintenance vehicles, equipment and services.
The Venice Lifeguard Station is located in the center of Santa Monica Bay. The 40 foot tower provides unparalled 180 degree views of the entire bay. It is an architectural and cultural historic landmark of Venice Beach.
Please join over 1,300 Venice neighbors as we repurpose the tower portion as a public Observation Tower, LA Lifeguard Museum and Venice Oceanarium.
