Von Brause Blacksmith Shop

This was a blacksmith shop. A blacksmith is a person who makes things out of raw iron. They made necessary items like horseshoes and tools. Mr. Von Brause was also the town marshal, or a type of police officer. One of his jobs was to collect up students who were not in school and bring them back to school. Until recently held the Jenkins Senior Center, which we saw on our city hall field trip. It is currently the Olde Wine Cellar (which used to be in the Herman's Tavern building).
