The Warthog’s name is very appropriate. It’s a member of the pig family and it has warts. These warts are actually fleshy bumps near the eye and further down the muzzle. Males have larger warts, which help cushion the blows from tusks during fights with rival males. Omnivores, they have diet of grasses, fruits, and small mammals. Native to the savannah of sub-Saharan Africa, warthogs on average live for 10-18 years.
