Late March and early April many wildflowers start appearing. A few to keep an eye out for throughout the garden are:
- Lenten Rose (Helleborus orientalis)
- Trout Lily (Erythronium alba and Erythronium americanum )
- Snow Drop (Galanthus var.)
Others, like Bloodroot, Celandine Poppy (blooms in late April-May), Maidenhair fern, May apple (blooms in May), Violet Freckles (April), and American Cranberry Bush (flowers in may, red berries later in summer, fall leaf color) are tagged in their approximate location.
