Built-in 1869, it’s the oldest existing police building in Hong Kong and was also listed as a declared monument in 1983. Back to the time when Hong Kong was just ceded to the British, law and order is very poor in Stanley and is notorious for being frequented by pirates. In the light of this situation, the Old Stanley Police Station was built and took the responsibility of maintaining local social stability. In addition, it is one of the oldest British buildings in Hong Kong, a large number of quaint architectural components in the building have been preserved and the outlook of it is beautiful and concise.
