Tour Information

This tour covers the second half of a walking tour of Bridgetown Cemetery. This tour covers the newer sections of the cemetery, purchased in 1939, developed in the 1950s, and officially opened in 1962. This tour focuses on the development and change of the cemetery from rural, protestant cemetery to inclusive, non-denominational suburban cemetery, and ends looking ahead to the future development of the cemetery grounds. This portion of the cemetery is laid out in even rows, with height and other restrictions placed on decorations and headstones. For more information please see www.bridgetowncemetery.com

Materials Pits

This area is for materials for the cemetery grounds crew to store top soil, mulch, sand, and gravel for use on the cemetery grounds. Built in 1964, the walls are three feet high and are made from basic cinderblock.
