The City of Westminster was founded in 1876 as a water stop for the Atlanta and Charlotte Air Line Railroad, Westminster has retained its historic legacy with more than 100 homes dating back to the late 1800s. Many local merchants and homeowners proudly display a quilt block on their building that is representative of a family heirloom.
Westminster is widely known for the Apple Festival that happens every year the week after Labor Day. Each of the hand-painted quilts you’ll view on the tour is a replica of the original fabric quilt.
