Being a melting pot of history and culture, Ma Wan showcases the duality of Hong Kong Society. Despite having a considerable western influence, it also maintains its Chinese roots. By mixing together historic and contemporary sites, this tour explores how Ma Wan has transformed over the years.

What You'll See on the Tour

This is the last stop where the NR330 (a bus from Tsing Yi Station) will drop you off.
Developed by the Sun Hung Kai Properties, this Housing Estate consists of 31 towers and houses approximately 15,000 residents. It was developed between 2002 and 2006 as part of the Ma Wan Development joint venture project.
A hidden temple that you can reach by going down a staircase on the road. Legend has it that the temple was originally built by a local pirate and navy colonel Cheung Po Tsai to protect the locals.
Take the staircase further down the Tin Hau Temple to reach this scenic beach. In the backdrop of the crystal clear water you will see dozens of high rise buildings. Plus point: This beach is also good for fishing!
Despite new villages being built over this 250 year-old village, this place has by no means lost its charm! Explore the peaceful streets of this village to tap into another part of Hong Kong!
Located in the Tin Liu village, the Chan's Ancestral Hall is a place where geneaologies of the Chan's family can be found. Visit this site to learn more about the history of some of Ma Wan's very first inhabitants!
This huge park, which a substantial part of the island, houses a rainbow wall, a garden, a heritage centre and an adventure garden.

Located north of the old village, you will be able to see countless fishing rafts which make up a vibrant fish farming community
Located at the top of an off-map small trail, this Tin Hai Temple is a Grade III historic building selected by Hong Kong's Antiquities and Monuments Office.
Off the Ma Wan Rural Committee Road, visit this vacated village which was established in 1965. You can even look inside some of these abandoned houses!
The Ma Wan Tung Wan Beach is by far the most popular destination for people who visit Ma Wan. It is a huge beach with spectacular views of the Tsing Ma Bridge and the Ting Kau Bridge. The beach also has a life sized Noah's Ark exhibition. ...
