Tour Information

This walking tour sets off from the village, and follows the south shore of Halfmoon Bay, on the road past Scollay Rocks, Greenvale, Lonnekers Bay, Leask Bay and on to the end of the Road at harrolds Bay. Then by excellent walking Track past Harrolds Bay and Ackers stone cottage out to Ackers Point

What You'll See on the Tour

This is a good Start off point
Jade Carving classes, and Jade (Greenstone) for sale
Look seawards to Scollay Rocks, named for an early settler. Captn Bob Scollay had a boat building business on the shore here, and allso owned an early guest house
Green Vale, with Greenvale Nugget off shore
Named for Fred Lonnekers, who owned the first Guest House here, established 1875
Lonnekers Nugget is the burial site of an old Whaling Captain who was killed when the anchorchain broke while being lifted. His crew buried him here
