Come see all the amazing public art on Penn's campus.

This tour is an example on how PocketSights can be used to re-create Penn's full campus wide public art tour.

Can you visit all 71 of Penn's Pubic Art Locations in one PocketSights tour? If not, no worries we got you covered.

Even if you're in standard walking tour mode because you like those tour route lines to guide you, feel free to use the skip function to skip a few points, but visit us again and do the rest of the tour at another time.

Visiting Penn's 71 Public Art Locations should be on the list of 71 things to do before graduating.

When creating a new tour login to PocketSights at: www.PocketSights.com.

Login with your username and password.

If you don't have a user name and password you can sign-up for one right from the website. Once your account is approved you will be able to log in and create tours.

When you on log-in at the top you will see:

  • My Tours - which shows all the tours created by your organization
  • New Tours - is where you create a new tour
  • Also next to REVIEW you will see a number indicating an reviews your organizations has to do related to photos submitted and comments on tours from visitors.

When looking at the different tour types you can see we picked Walking Tour (to see more about the different tour types we provide, click on the word help in the Tour Type section of PocketSights' Online Tour Builder.

Add up to three categories that tell more about your tour.

You can format your text in PocketSights' Tour Builder in the Detailed Description box by using the format tools within the tour builder.

You can:

  • Format the text as normal, Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, or Formatted.

  • Make your text Bold and/or Italic.

  • Add ordered and unordered lists to help make your description easier to view for users.

  • " is to add a block quote.

  • Create hyperlinks to link back to the original source, like here to view Penn's Public Art Map.

  • Input phone numbers that become quick and easy click to call links.

At the top of the PocketSights Online Tour Builder you will see different tabs.

  1. The icon of a home is where you put information about your tour.
  2. The icon of a map marker shows the point of interest location shows a photo or Google maps view of this point, if one is provided. You can easily edit this point of interest by scrolling over the image and clicking edit. You can also edit the green numbered map markers by left clicking on one and clicking Edit Point of Interest.
  3. The icon is a dollar sign and this is where you provide donation support. Ask visitors to consider donating to your cause. If you choose to enable this feature, a button will be presented to visitors when they finish your tour allowing them to donate to your cause. When setting this feature up, you can enter your PayPal address or a custom URL if you already have an established giving site.
  4. The arrows tab is for the ability to tap into your visitor's social network. There are social sharing buttons on content throughout tours. We'll compose a default message and use your custom hashtag when a visitor shares anything from your tour on their social network. Use a hashtag like #UPenn #VisitPhilly #Philly or #Philadelphia.
  5. Ask visitors to join your mailing list under the mail icon. Build deeper relationships with your visitors. If you choose to enable this feature, a button will be presented to visitors when they finish your tour allowing them to join your organization's email marketing list. We'll collect the visitor's name, email address, and zip code and make it available to you for export.
  6. The flag icon is used for a tour completion customization message. Call your visitors to action. When visitors complete your tour a "Thank you" window appears. You can customize this message with your parting words and a call to action. This is the perfect time to encourage donations and mailing list signups if you've enabled these features.
