Once the capital of Malta, and home to noble families since the 12th century, Mdina is graced with grand palaces and beautiful churches. This vast complex of Roman tombs connected to two large halls showcase the burial rituals used in the early days of Christianity.
Dating to the 1st century B.C., this former aristocrat's townhome offers visitors a glimpse into daily Roman life with exceptionally preserved mosaic floors.

The Baroque-inspired design of the Mdina Gate dates to 1724, when the city was restored thanks to the Order of St. John. Featured in S1 of Game of Thrones.
Completed in 1702 to replace a 13th-century cathedral. The clock on the left bell tower shows the date and month of the year, while the other shows the time.
