Welcome to the 2017 Tazewell, Virginia Christmas Tour!

The tour is sponsored by the Tazewell County Historical Society and will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

The tour will feature 5 beautiful residences, along with several area businesses and churches.

What You'll See on the Tour

Built in 1984, it is a charming Tudor-style home was originally built as a model home for the community
Charming 1940’s bungalow that is former parsonage and features beautiful original woodwork and a courtyard.  
Built in 1885 by Captain Joseph Harrison, this Victorian home features many original fireplaces and unique dual staircases, along with a Christmas tree for each room and greenhouse.  
Built by George & Nancy Peery in 1917 and known as “Maple Hill”, this stately home is a former residence of  George C. Peery, who served as Virginia’s Governor from 1934-1938.
Known as the Greever house, which was built in 1896. Now serves as the TCHS headquarters. Browse our collection of books for sale and enjoy cider and cookies.    
Howie and Kathy Mitchell’s new location at the Gildersleeve house,  an ornamental Victorian, which was also the home of Dr. Mary Elizabeth Johnston
Built in 1913, it began in a building on the west end of town in 1845​.
Georgian-style home built in the 1920s. One of the C.R. Brown trio of homes, whose wife was the daughter of a coal baron. Built for their daughter, who married State Highway Commissioner, Sam D. May, Jr.
Church member and master builder, Thomas Hawkins, built the original portion. The church bell was donated by John D. Rockefeller.  
Vickie Boothe’s festive boutique, with hot cider and a visit with Santa Claus to celebrate their open house (*No ticket is required for this stop)  
This cozy 1960’s home now serves as a parsonage.  
Established on Whitley Branch in 1867, it moved to the former Lutheran brick building in 1899.  
Founded in 1793, the current building was erected in 1889. This is the first church in Tazewell County.
