This spring was listed at 128 North Spring which puts it right where the Water Works Building still stands.  The owners were part of a scheme to pipe water to the Columbian Exposition Center in Chicago.  The owners planned to purchase the... Read more
Here are some pictures of what this entire area used to look like.  The roads have been re-routed covering some of the springs and ponds. It was listed that the owner Thomas Spence had five springs on his property.
