Goose in the Pond was among the traditional patterns included in the first known catalog of quilt patterns published by the Ladies Art Company, ca. 1890. Other names for the pattern include Young Man’s Fancy, Geometric Garden, and Bachelor’s Puzzle.
Since 1924 these buildings have served the community as a school for grades 1-12, then the SDOC Administration building, studio space for various community arts programs, the Walhalla Performing Arts Center annex and now being renovated to become the Old Oconee Inn.
