Founded in 1850 and located in Upstate South Carolina, Walhalla is a city rich in heritage where you will be on the “Main Street to the Mountains.”
Located in the Northwest corner of the state, Walhalla is one of the last South Carolina cities before trekking into the mountains for local hiking trails, or a short scenic trip to Lake Jocassee or Highlands, NC. The City of Walhalla is the terminus to South Carolina’s longest pedestrian and bicycle trail, The Palmetto Trail. The newly constructed Stumphouse Mountain Bike Park provides miles of world-class mountain bike trails.
Visit Oconee South Carolina site has a wealth of information on the area and local points of interest, events, eateries, places to shop and stay. Visit Oconee Murals for complete list throughout Oconee County.
Each of the hand-painted quilts you’ll view on the tour is a replica of the original fabric quilt. Click here to be directed to the UHQT website for additional information about each quilt and an interactive map for additional directions or UHQT locations. The number in front of the quilt name can be used to locate the quilt story from the search bar on the UHQT home page.
The UHQT received funding from the Oconee County Accommodation Tax Commission for development of Tour App.
