This home constructed in 1835 sticks out along the north side of West Church Street due in large part to its painted brick facade. Originally this building was turned down for landmark status due to the addition of the large bay window on the second floor. Changes in standards for the Landmarks Committee allowed the house to be awarded a plaque granting it landmark status. The wooden steps which are different from the brick and iron style seen on many homes around it give it significance along the street. Besides the bay window there are windows on all three stories of the house and a small awning window looking into the basement. This house uses many of the same stylistics features as its neighbors but its color choices are clearly different therefore giving it a certain symbolic meaning along the street.
