This crossing is the one of two on the section of track between Moorooduc and Mornington Stations.
The lights and bells have been been re-instated but are activated manually as a train approaches.
There is usually a crossing keeper located at this spot who is responsible for the safe operation of the crossing and both train and vehicular movements. If a crossing keeper is unavailable, the train will stop and the guard will alight the train at either Tanti Station or the Rail car stopping point and activate the crossing. Once the train has passed safely, the crossing will be deactivated and the guard will rejoin the train which will then continue on it's journey.
