Common Lilac (Syringa vulgaris)

Common lilacs are often planted as ornamentals because of their fragrant flowers. This specimen can be found underneath the silver maple on the front lawn at Lemieux's Orchard. This common lilac bush is one of my favorite trees because it belonged to my late grandmother.
