Cincinnati's Union Terminal originally included a rear concourse which, like the rest of the building, featured mosaic murals by Winold Weiss. When the concourse was demolished to accommodate piggy back freight traffic in 1972, these murals (minus a large US map mural which was destroyed) were moved to Cincinnati's airport. Recently the terminal which housed them was demolished and the murals were relocated to this (supposedly temporary) location.
The murals feature workers on Cincinnati's significant industries including piano making, soap production, machine tools, paint, and broadcasting. They were created from photos of actual workers.
