312 W. Third St., 1837, Federal style. with later Italianate modifications. This was the home of Jesse D. Bright, who was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1845 and was reelected twice. In 1862 he was expelled from the Senate for support of the Confederacy in the Civil War. Although not the only senator to ever be expelled, he was the last one as of the end of 2015.
