Stop 13: 707 Walnut – William Anderson’s First Home
William Anderson arrived in Madison in 1836 and married Sidney Baptist the following year. He built this home in 1846 and became a preacher. After Sidney's death, he married Julia Hill. His autobiography, Twenty-Four Years a Slave, is available online via the University of North Carolina.
