The Harris Block was built in 1897. The three-story building was built in 1897, and included the Hotel Alba. It was also known for the having the Pacific Hat Works, and the MaCrea Curio Shop, on the ground floor, until the New Palace Cafe opened in the 1950s, to be replaced by the Brass Rail. The upper floors were demolished in 1984.
