This is a walking tour which is going to focus on the demolished buildings around Grand Central Market just to the north of south, Angels Flight across the street, which is still out of commission, the 19th century business block (now replaced by the MTA station) at the SE corner of 5th & Hill, and the 1994 remodel of Pershing Square.

What You'll See on the Tour

This is the Hill Street entrance to Grand Central Market.  It has a major renovation in 1964, and again in 1994, which is it current state.

The YWCA was designed by Arthur Benton and opened in 1908.  It became the Hotel Belmont in 1924.  It was demolished in 1971.

The Bath Block, AKA the Hotel Willoughby, was built in 1898 and was a remarkable structure, that lasted all the way until 1984.
