Bestula nigra
Location: This was found in White Park. These grow near water sources in moist rich soil, poorly drained soil, and even well-drained soil. It is not shade tolerant and is often used for landscaping.
Rationale: I love the way the bark on river birches looks. They almost have a pinkish tinge to them.
