The first area I went to was White Park in Concord, New Hampshire. This is a well-groomed park with a pond in the middle of it. It occupies a roughly polygonal parcel of land that is surrounded by residential streets and the University of New Hampshire School of Law is across the street. It was built in 1884 by Charles Eliot.
The second area was called Sewalls Falls in Concord New Hampshire. This is a multi-use recreational area that spans 5 acres. The construction for it began in 1984. The banks are steep and densely vegetated and goes along the Merrimack River.
Both of these areas are dry and don't require boots unless it is raining. I would recommend wearing long pants are Sewalls Falls due to long brush and possible ticks or ivy.
