Created By: Surrey Christian School
Students from Surrey Christian School have built a willow fence along the sides of this stream which, depending on the season, may be dried up. Despite its name, this is not your typical fence. The willows have been planted in a staggered fashion, looking more natural than an ordinary fence. The students hope that these willows will provide shade for the creek and create diversity in Godwin Park. Some of these willows will eventually intertwine with each other, creating a habitat for birds to live in and animals to lie in the shade. The city of surrey will maintain these willows if needed but it's also up to you to make sure that Godwin Park remains a safe and clean place. From the path, look for new buds growing on the willows.
