Wythenshawe Hospital is a major acute teaching hospital, part of University Hospital South Manchester. They have several departments offering distinct services including: Accident and Emergency (A&E) services, Major trauma, Orthopaedics and Intensive Care. The A&E department can be accessed for emergency treatment without an appointment. If you are not able to get to the hospital by yourself due to an injury or illness, call 999 for an ambulance.
The A&E department only treats serious injuries or illnesses. For general health problems, make an appointment to see your GP or find your nearest Walk-in Centre.

As you enter the hospital site you will find Accident and Emergency to the left of the main entrance and close to the visitors’ car park. The department has its own entrance, with an ambulance port, 50 yards to the left of the main entrance. It is located in the Acute Block in the purple zone.
