This Wabash Marketplace project is a continuation of the 2012 Public Art Master Plan. Public art transforms ordinary sites with either an art image or opportunity for arts learning. In this case, vinyl art wraps were installed on traffic control boxes around the county.
Easy-to-miss traffic control boxes contain the mechanics for traffic lights, and the more functions to control, the larger the control box. What once were metal boxes meant to go relatively unnoticed are now great works of art-- or at least images of great works of art! By the time you visit all 15 art wraps, you will have observed art from the 1800s to current day, as well as explored Wabash County.
