J.K. McClelland ran numerous businesses from this building. At one time it was an ice cream parlor and sundry (or general) store. He also sold school books, post cards and other odds and ends. His motto was "Get it at McClelland's."
J.K. McClelland was a mortician and in the 1950s he converted the store into a funeral parlor. Facing the building, the left-hand side was the hearse garage and the right-hand side was the casket showroom and office. The second floor was subdivided into apartments for winter visitors and still is available for rent.
It was most recently Carmelo's Italian restaurant which moved to a new location in 2018. The first floor is currently unoccupied.
