Information

Welcome to my tour. This tree is a sequential hermaphrodite, meaning that it can change its sex throughout its lifetime. Slow growing, rarely gets over 20 feet tall. Moose and deer love eating it (called moose maple). We have many deer that come in and I've seen a few eating it but they prefer the fruit trees that we have. Three triangular lobes on leaves with a large central lobe. Flowers late spring to early summer. Prefers dense forest, lots of moisture and not full sun. It is under some bigger trees. It gets some sun but is not fully exposed. Very shallow root system. Leaves have 3 big lobes with 2 additional small ones.
