What You'll See on the Tour

Welcome to my tour. This tree is a sequential hermaphrodite, meaning that it can change its sex throughout its lifetime. Slow growing, rarely gets over 20 feet tall. Moose and deer love eating it (called moose maple). We have many deer th... Read more
Planted by my dad around 10 years ago. He trims them every year and keeps good care of them. They have produced many very good-tasting pears, I love them. Deer love eating the buds and fruit that fall.
My dad planted this around 10 years ago. He trims and works on it every year so they can continue to produce great tasting pears. This pear is my favorite one to eat over the other tree that we have. They are typically more juicy fruit or ... Read more
Just like the pear trees, my dad planted this tree around the same time. At first, it struggled because the deer would eat all the buds and for years we wondered why it wasn't producing any apples.
This tree is over 20 years old. It was here when my parents bought the house 20 years ago, and they said then it looked old. One year it almost tipped over because of the way the biggest branch is and my dad supported it with a stake. The ... Read more

I was able to identify it because it still had the tag on it labeled "Bing Cheery" from when my parents planted it. When it blooms its a gorgeous tree. The birds always end up eating all the cherrys.
Easily identifiable from its leaves. My uncle used to come over and tap it during the season for the sap. It's a pretty big and healthy-looking tree.
This is my favorite tree when it blooms. The light purple color along with its amazing fragrance is unbeatable. It you haven't seen one or smelt one i highly recommend it.
Once again deer love eating these apples off the ground. The branches are too high for them to eat of them, but this produces a lot of apples. They all are not the best looking and my dad doesnt really spend much time taking care of it so t... Read more
There are tons of these trees, none really of any size. They are all growing on a banking near the brook that goes under the road.
Beautiful dark red color right now. These three trees are in my neighbors yard.

Not native to maine. The previous owner was a tree Arborist so he loved planted random trees in the yard. You can see the blueish teal tint in the needles. The needles are also very sharp and prickly.
Needles grow in bundles of 5. Can grown 5 feet per year. Can grow 50-80 feet tall. If i had to guess this one is close to 75 feet tall. Cones are much larger than other pines. Good for lumber. i actually worked at a Eastern White Pine ... Read more
